A mantra is a combination of holy syllables which form a core of spiritual energy. This energy is as a magnet for attracting and joining spiritual vibrations. The syllable "man" in mantra means in Sanskrit "thinking". "Tra"is from "trai"and means "protection against “or "liberation". So mantra means as much as "thinking that liberates and protects".
